throttle body, inlet manifold, manifold, exhaust system, different profile cams etc.

i have a 1.4 lupo sport which rolls in at 100hp standard and I'm glad i got the sport and not the other 75hp one.

thanks mate, well does any body have any ideas of where or who i could get these parts from please and how i can tell they're the correct ones for the job i need, and not the same ones as i got for my car again. (i hope that makes sense)if not then just let me know and ill try and re-word it.

thanks. lee

Look at the 'parts for sale' section on this forum, if not you can always try a scrap yard or ebay. You may also need the fuel tank and pump etc.

so basically keep my eye out for a scrapper 1.4 100bhp? and would the engine in the lupo, ibiza or 6n polo fit in mine?

isnt it 8v and 16v ?

isnt it 8v and 16v ?

Yes come to think of it, 1.4 8V - 75hp. 1.4 16v - 100hp, but you still gotta add the differences such as fuelling, tb, manifolds etc.

Nope

1.4 8v is 60 bhp

1.4 16v is 75 bhp or 100 bhp

There are at least 3 1.4 16vs

The AFH, 100 bhp, as fitted to the Polo 6n, and 6n only.

The 75 bhp as fitted to the 6n2 Polo and Lupo (others too no doubt).

The 100 bhp, also fitted to the 6n2 Polo and Lupo.

In simple terms, all three engines are completely different. Yes, they have 16 valves and around 1400cc, but that is pretty much where the similarities end.

Oh, and finding a genuine 100 bhp Polo 6n2 would be pretty hard.

There was a guy over on clublupo managed to virtually prove the main factor difference between the 1.4 16V 75bhp and 100bhp was the intake and TB.

He changed those over and remapped it, and the 75bhp engine was touching 100bhp.

There is no difference in the cams or exhaust system on the later 16V engines. The two engines (75 and 100) and virtually identical. (I exclude the polo 16V AFH engine as this was completely different!)
