so i need a cheap insurance company

I'm getting stupid quetes like 2000 quid for my 1 litre mk3

anyways yeah anybody know of any?

Obviously search moneysupermarket or something like that. Also phone the companies that advertise in the magazine you get when you pass your test (If you get one nowadays that is).

Remember with the search engine ones, phone each of the cheap ones (Or go to their internet site) and see if you get it cheaper going directly to them.

HIC insrance are awesome i got my insrance for 900 fully comp on my own name, with 3 point, a ban, no no claims discount, and a engine change + 15000 quid worth of cosmecital mods free so i can delicre most of em

He is 17, i thought HIC and Adrian Flux don't insure under 19's?

I used CIS (Co-operative Insurances Services) when I was 17, pretty good price wise!

If it's modified then you are going to struggle. If it's standard then the likes of Tesco, Adsa etc... will probably be the cheapest options but they will pretty much tell you to get lost if you modify it.

At the end of the day there's no such thing as "the cheapest insurance company". It's different for everyone and you'll just have to do the work and phone up as many of them as you can. Most specialist companies such as Brentacre, HIC, Adrian Flux wont insure anyone less than 19 I don't think (certainly Brentacre don't).

Direct Line were one of the cheapest when I first started driving too. Tesco insurance is (or at least used to be) run by Direct Line too, but Tesco usually seems to be cheaper. Give HIC a ring and find out. Only way you'll find out.

Joking apart mate More than have always done it for me, also elephant or admiral are defo worth a bash. Be careful with more than though they'll insure you with wheels up to 17inch but mod it for performance (even lowering!!!) and they don't wanna know you no matter what age you are!

I don't know if they do young drivers, but mine's with Lancaster, and they're brilliant.

They didn't charge for the with mods either (though mine are only alloys, towbar and a 5-speed box).

other quotes I've had have been around the £2000 mark...

lets clear this up, HIC and brentacre require you to be 19. Adrian flux will insure any age as far as I'm aware, they were the cheapest for me on my GT at £1400 tpft with me just having passed my test, everyone else wanted over £2000 except endsleigh who said £1700 and changed that to closer to £3000 the when I went to buy it and denied ever quoting me £1700 when I had a confirmation email infront of me!

I'd try someone like adrian flux to start with as they have good quotes for us younger drivers, then when you are 19 you can go with a specialist such as HIC (I know I will be!)

CIS is cheapest for me. Elephant hasn't given me bad quotes either
