but do they like modified cars? and what kinda deals do they do? i wanna get some idea before i go phoning them up, don't wanna sit though 20 mins of them taking details to find out its no good for me.

Admiral multi car is shite in my experience, they claim all these savings but I've never seen them when trying to add a couple of cars on to my policy.

They also said something in crazy chinese/other foreign language when I hinted at lowering the car MORE THAN 35MM OH GOD NO!

I found Admiral multicar to be bloody expensive, so I just have two policies.

If one car is just a toy, not for work or anything, have a chat to Lancaster. I have the work car with them on a normal policy and the polo with them on a classic which they charge me very little for.

The fact that I have 4 and 3 years (I think) NCB can take a bit of explaining though.

Do you happen to know whether it's possible to combine NCB from two different policies (from two different companies) if you were moving from 2 cars to 1?

When my grandad tried to split his NCB onto 2 policies, CIS wouldn't allow it, so I doubt you could merge them either. But then the person on the phone said another insurance company might allow it, so it might come down to each individual companys policies.

if a changed to another insurance company would i lose the 8 months no claims that i've built up so far?

Brentacre copied my NCB onto both my cars. Crucially, I still build up more NCB seperately. So I have 5+ years on one car which continues, they copied the 5+ years discount onto my other car but that now starts building it's own NCB as well, so if I was to transfer somewhere else after a year I'd at least have 5+ on one car and 1 year on the other.....if that makes sense!

Henry - I'd be very surprised if they will amalgamate the two NCBs. Might be worth insuring a tiny motorbike or something to keep the other NCB going?
