Anyone know if you can get away with not declareing parts such as coilovers or is it a massive risk? Just wondering because you can never declare an exact lowering amount because one day it might be like 40mm and the next 120mm i know that example is ridiculous on most cars but surely its true how do you go about it anyoen got any experience on this topic cos it starts costing ridiculous amounts just because your car is touching the floor seems bloody daft to me!!!

not insuring mods = void insurance.

Never advisable, you can get away with things like ecu chips etc, which are visually noticable but the likes of alloy wheels and suspension are pretty obvious.

So in the event of a crash or write off, when the insurance company checks the car and its has undeclared mods on it they will be unlikely to pay up.

There are companies out there who wont penalise you too heavily for lowering, sure there willb e some suggestions.

In answer to your question insurance companies will sometimes ask if they are fixed hight suspension kits ie shocks and springs, or coilovers.

Just sounds daft dunnit though. I don't understand the concept of how much to tell them you have lowered it by or do you just say coilovers to them because to be honest not many of them seem to have the slightest clue what they're on about they just hear modification and ram another grand on top of your premium as a gesture of bloody good will!

haha yeah, insurance isnt a fun game. Always best to be covered as you dont wanna hit a £60k merc and be lumped with the bill you know.

Phone around some companies see what they say, as everyone is different situations and prices so see what you can get, try the likes of Adrian flux, brentacre, Hic etc.

True you reckon third partys worth a look in. Tryin to insure a 9n with coilovers and 17's its not proving easy at all to be honest i feel like a criminal because i like cars!

T obe honest i've looked at 3rd party F and T and its about the same fro some stupid reason something like 900 pound some were offering is that right? Surely not? Adrian Flux want something like 1400 which i still think is stupid because i'm with more then at the moment who don't mind the wheels on for 700 a year! So just for whacking coils on its like double that! Surely thats wrong?
