take the caps off the bolts, and unscrew, mine was abit of a bastard to get off as it hadnt been touched for 11 years

Funny thing that... went to do the same a couple of years ago on our 6n rear plate and the bolt heads had rusted over! The heads then proceeded to shear off. Ended up cutting the number plate off around the bolts (somehow bonded to the shank of the bolt by rust and crud). Then drilling them out! 10 minutes work turned into an hour.

Then got new plates and plastic bolts and washers. NOW try rusting!!!

If you fit new metal bolts a little tip: just coat the heads with a little clear laquer (and let it dry) before you close the caps to retard rusting of the head.

my bolt snapped and is stuck in the car so i just had to file it down as much as possible and i have the plates stuck on with velcro now so when i get some german plates once I'm driving its changeable :p

dont wanna put germans on at the min as my dad is using the car so dont want him getting pulled for something I've done
