Push the right stalk forwards (towards the dash) once to activate the rear washer.

Push it forwards again to switch it off.

Once you've pushed it once (on) it will continue to move intermittantly until you push it again to stop it.

Push it towards the dash and hold it...that should squird the washer fluid out then give it another nudge to stop it....IIRC that is...hope that helps...

How have you cleaned the rear window before then??? ;)

Move back to middle. Push the button on the END of the wiper stalk to cancel rear wiper for 6n.

Embarrassing indeed...

IIRC there isnt a button at the end of the stalk on the mk4

She beat me to it!!!

Surely it's the left stalk????

The left stalk is the indicators?

We need to find a pic of the 6n dash...it's annoying me now!!

There is a button on the END of the wiper stalk for the 6n.

Pull towards you -> Front wash/wipe

PUSH away from you -> rear wash/wipe

Up/down -> front wipers on/intermittent

Button in/off -> rear wiper intermittent on/off

i think it depends on wether its late or early spec. my '97 6n definitely didn't have a button.

Yes it does have a button, i got confused with the mk3. haven't had a mk4 since August!

Ah yeah, some do, some dont..I've had some without and i think my 16v did have one.

yes, i had the same problem with how to get the wiper/washer to work, and then relised you have to push it towards the dash, and it does have a little button on the end of the right stalk to activate and deactivate the rear wiper.

hahahahahaha sowee fatty :-(

Right that's it i'm off to get some food...i mean a haircut!!

youve gotta sit in the drivers seat, spin 360 on it honk the horn twice, get out slam the door twice and run round the car, get back in honk again and it should turn off

what the hell my pol o1.0L has no button on the stalk dublass? care to explain why lol? or am i blind?

comedy :)

Confuses so many people.

The later 6n has the button on the end. The early ones didn't.

The descriptions up there ^^ are correct though for the different styles :)
