i have searched this whole site looking for an answer, but although people have been asking this question, it never seams to be answered properly so i thought i would ask for myself.

all i want to know is will the newer mk4 clocks (the ones with the speedo and rev counter on the outside) fit in the same hole with the same fitting and look like it sits properly in the place of the older style dash (the ones with the temp gauge and fuel gauge on the out side) without any adjustment of the dash or conection plugs/leads.

any help would be greatly appreciated ! ! ! ! :-)

they are the same just internally styled differently!

you will need to swap the lcd clocks tho to read the appropriate mileage

so the milage is stored on the lcd clocks then, not the cars computer

but are the fittings any different? the ones to hold the actual thing in place?

Hmm, would like to know if this would work as i hate my old style dials.

Wouldnt've thought it would be easy as the later spec's electronics are laid out differently.

I've got the new style dials and i want the old ones! if any of you guys have got 16v dials I'm willin to do a swap with a bit of cash my way. if youre not too far we could always meet up and give it a go!
