Featured Replies

I've searched elike crazy and £1300 is the cheapest I've found.

I've tried tescocompare, moneysupermarket, compare.com and others.

surely this is too much for a 17 year old new drive with full licence

any suggestions would be greatful.

thats about right, i payed £2300 for my gt

go as a named driver mate with one of your parents as the main driver. it will knock a fair bit off, give it a try and see how much the difference is. some insurers even allow you to build up no claims as a named driver.

thats definitely about right. ever since those mental floods this summer, insurance quotes for me have rocketed. I'm at £1500 for 1.3 SPI on my mums, but neither of us have noclaims, i'm 17.

My best quote for a 1.3 CL Coupe is £1726 TPF&T so you're doing alright lol.

I must have a cheap quote then i was quoted £1250 for a mk3 squareback GT TPF&T and I'm only 17 with no NCB by Quinn direct.

Dan

lol

I'm paying £500 to insure a 1.3 golf fully comp at 18

admiral

Quinn seem to be good with young drivers

I'm currently paying £1186 on a 1.6l polo mk4, 17 year old w/ full license, parents as named drivers

and a mate is paying around £700 on a 1.4? Saxo, (parents policy, he's named w/ provisional)

what insurance company is your mate with^^

same as me, Quinn

I was quoted around the same for the polo but opted for my own policy

quinn direct matey !

i pay £745 1yr ncb on my 1.3 nz coupe and I'm 18 , its 3rd party . also quinn is good becuase you can drive anybodys car with there permission and it covers third party as well

buzz

I'm with Bell, they're great for young drivers, I'm 22 with 1 years ncb and a couple things to my name :( 900 fully comp on my gti

when i was 17 i had a mk3 polo cl 1043cc and i went under my dads name and it was £360

admiral have been one of my cheapest quotes so far.

gonna try quin direct now.

where as bell gave me some of my most expensive quotes. for different cars.

I'm 19 now been driving 2 yrs with no ncb.

iv got an IN10 with 6 points n £75 fine

LC20

and a I'm on a 6 month ban atm for speeding, so will soon have an sp30.

and when iv priced for a GT my prices are around 1200/1300

hahaha how good it feels. I pay £300 for mine. 23 with 3 yrs no claims mind you...

Quinn Direct is the best for young drivers as people have said.

Thats about what i pay now on a GT!

When i started driving, i paid £860 tpft on a mk2 1043cc bready.

Dropped by £200 next year and dropped abit every year since!

i am 27 now so probably why!

I'm payin £425 tpft with adrian flux, on a beetle policy, with a mk2 loon 1300 when i isured my frst one 2 years ago it was also 1300 cost me £1495 had my licence 2 years (20 now) with no points and no claims, no named drivers and own policy since day 1 , its easier to start your own policy and assuming you dont claim or get points for the first year, youll be laughing at your renewal cos its gonna drop by hundreds, (well at least mine and all my mates have )

or go the easy way and get a bug costs me £200 exactly fully comp with mods declaired lowered 1641 cammed no bumpers aftermarket wheels big stereo,

Getting 6 points that quickly is daft! Mind you i can't talk i nearly got the same the other day. How come you werent banned?

Mines £1500 on mums name 1.3 CL cos neither of us ave ncb, i'm 17.

...woops forgot id already posted how much it costs me

Edited by joeshaw123

My mk2 1.3 when i was 17 cost me £1200

18 with 1 year ncb cost me £700

renewal time in march i will be 19 with 2 years ncb hopefully will be even cheaper. woop!

for me fully comp on my mk6 1.2 the chepist i got was 1200 and iam 20 with no points

so done it through my dad and got it for 490 with direct line so i build up ncb too :)

but just watch if you do it like this you have to put the v5 in the person how is the main driver cos they will not pay out happend to friend of mine

I got a quote from quinn for £3051 TPFT on a 1.4 mk4 polo, Thats me as the policy holder, and they said it wouldnt make a difference to price if my parents where named drivers on my policy! I'm 17.

How comes you guys are getting much cheaper quotes? Any where else i could try

Cheers
