i want a dump valve for my tdi polo, its the 1.4 3cyl model and wondered if anyone has done this?

There is a reason people do not fit dump valves to diesels

They do not require them

i thought it wouldnt go down well here, I'm re routing the intercooler to behind the lower grill to give it a naughty look and wanted a dump valve to turn heads, yeah its only a 1.4 log burner but it never gets thrashed so people round my way dont know what it is!

also, I've got all the engine covers and soind deadening under the bonnet which really tones the rattle down, making it less derv-like.

fair point, think il not bother, as for the boy racers, let them get on with it, nothing more funny than a corsa revving the back doors off trying to encourage a "drag" at the lights, then watching him spin away relising he's a tit as I'm not interested. i find it pisses them off more!

My dads 1.9TD 405's got a recirc as standard, so I guess there must be some reason.

correct, to keep the turbo spinning during gear changes iirc. less turbo stall or something? meh, its late and i'm tired.

Burna, why not put a bigger turbo on there and a front mount?

or a petrol engine.....

I'm building this car up on a strict budget, and with the house I've got very limited funds to spare, besides its a little engine and great on derv, no point tinkering with it to make it go faster, just look good.
