That car would look so much better with black mesh or a slated grill, plus would complement the whole dark/black theme

Nope not as standard

Most have them now though as you can pick them up and get them fitted and painted for £80 and some actually look ok.

Oh and i shall be painting the mesh grill black when i get a chance

Came with the car, not a big fan of it either, does make a nice sound but at 2,250 rpm it vibrates off the back bumper resulting in one very annoying rattle which over the last 4 weeks has driven me insane!!!

is this the 1.6 8v? i always get confused, i know the facelift vts was 1.6 16v & the vtr 8v but not sure with this shape, my mates VTS was rapido though

This is the Mk1 VTR 1.6 8v 90 BHP to be exact. The best one IMO as it has the black top engine which is the stronger of the 3 VTR engines, so I'm lead to believe anyway.

Yeah i know, loosing to a 1.3 golf uphill is not good hehe.

If i get the cash sorted wanting a piper cam, ECU remap and 7.5K rev limiter. Should get the thing flying then.

I can't belive the limiter is only at 6k

Small up date on the chav wagon Saxo VTR. Everyone has said the grill makes it look like a barry boy hunk of junk and I thought so too so today I finally got it sorted.

not meaning to diss your car or anything...but dont waste your time "tuning" it....its a vtr.....they aint quick and they never will be....you want a fast saxo....buy a vts.....simple

I'm also 99 percent certain that phase one vtrs came with a rear spoiler.....quite a nice one that suites the car well....the later spec ones came with a wee one youd barely notice

Cheers for the advise mate haha. I've been researching Saxo's since I could drive and this is my second VTR. I know its not fast but they arent exactly slow, 9 seconds to 60 standard is ok from a 90 bhp engine. And buying a VTS aint simple. First you have to find one that hasn't been thrashed from one end of the country to the other then you have insurance. VTR is a group 7. VTS is a group 14. I have 7 points and 2 accidents to declare, thats why I went for a VTR.

Also on all Saxo's from the 1.0 spree to the 1.6 VTS the rear spoilers were optional extras, its just alot of people buy them. I did have one for this but couldn't be bothered painting it so chucked it on ebay.

I have to have the seat like that. The seating position in these things are awful, doesn't help that I'm 6'1 either.

I'm glad someone else said that. m3 mirrors were ok 10years+ ago on an bmw m3 but not on a saxo

They were on the sodding car when I bought it, same with that stupid jap can!

I have been trying to get standard mirrors but they are all over priced or scratched to fook!
