Mk5 roof strips onto a mk4

I've taken the naff rubber ones off my car and quite like the look of some colour coded mk5 ones but i remember somebody saying they were shorter than mk4 ones???? Would getting 5dr ones and trimming them to size solve this,,,any advice would be good folks,,,cheers...

from what I've read on here they fit straight on but the edge of the windscreen is a right angle were as on a mk4 the are curved.... so when you put them on you are left looking slightly odd but to solve this u simply get the wind screen replaced with a mrk 5's unless you dont find it that odd...

but if i got 5dr 6n2 ones wouldnt they be longer and possible to trim slightly to the shape of the screen,,,,just had a brand new screen fitted so dont wanna be replacing it really...

yer RICH you could probably get some 5 door ones and trim them to shape or aif your new screen is under cover crackit and get a new one lol

IF you ever need a new windscreen the 6n2 screen will fit and then the roof rails will fit perfectly!
