De-badging and de-pink side sticker-ing.

White Mk3 Coupe, getting it today :-D

Firstly, it has a rather homosexual looking pink sticker down either side, from the wing to the rear light, how might one remove this?

Secondly, how do i remove the bump strips on the door? please tell me they're ONLY stuck on.

Thirdly (lol), the Polo CL Coupe badge on the tailgate... i've heard there are holes behind it.. so is it removable?

Trying to think of anything else i was gonna ask while I'm here...

Oh yeah.. can anyone recomend a Back To Black that actually works.. me and my mate tried 3 yesterday on his Saxo and they all did sweet nothing, i cant be rolling with old light grey bumpers lol.

Cheers all. Chris.

the sidestrips come off, just glue stuff. did it on mine.

and just peel the side sticker off but the colour might be off under it as no sun has got to it, not sure about the bagdge

Argh, I've gotta lose the pink stripeness lol, the car needs a clean up anyway.. do you reckon it will be ok if i remove it then T-Cut the whole car and give it the whole wash and wash treatment?

You'll only know if you do it mate..

^^ True but i'd rather have the strip than patches of paint missing

Get a heat gun on a low setting (or a hairdryer) to heat the glue to remove them. Then remove any residue with white spirit. If theres a colour difference, get the t-cut out and if that fails...off to halfrauds for some Rubbign Compound....then wash, polish, wax.

once you have heated the bump strip use some fishing wire to saw throught the glue come off a treat that way same method applies for de-badgeing

Ah cool, thanks for the info guys :D

The pink strip....

Pour boiling water over the strip and just peel off. If it starts hurting your fingers then use an old credit card. Just be careful when removing anything on a mk3 because the laquer seems to come off really easily.

That's great, theres the answers to a few questions I was gonna have to ask when I get my mk3 coupe this week or next week. Who would of thought it would be another Chris would ask?!

P.S. If you're gonna mod it remember to take some pics and do a blog!! Not enough people doing that on here!!
