Best route through from battery 6n

Featured Replies

Sorry if this is basic stuff :? but i want to put a amp and 6x9s in my 6n. Is there a standard wire route that everyone uses to get the power cable through from the engine bay, and what is the best route under carpet, seats etc for cables to the boot on a 5dr 6n?

Cheers

Can only give you basic info but it's pretty simple. In the engine bay on the bulkhead between the dashboard and the window washer is a little rectangular pice of rubber that seals a hole. Get in there with a flat screwdriver and try not to lose the rubber grommet. [Just in case you ever want to remove the amp, wiring and return to standard for sale etc]

This should lead you into the passengers side of the dashboard behind the airbag. Get in side the passenger footwell and there is a a flat foamy sheet which needs to be gently pulled away from the bottom of the dashboard. [if you have had the door speakers out, it is the same material as sits behind them] Then it is just a case of finding the wire you have just fed into the dash from the engine bay whilst cooped up in the footwell.

To get it to the back of the car is, as far as i know, very simple. In my 3dr the floor carpet is only tucked underneath the door seal. So again with some gentle persuasion it should come away easily enough to not think it's going to tear, and i would imagine that it would be the same all the way to the back of the car.. Then you can lift up the rear bench as though you were folding the seats down and feed the wire between the backrest of the bench and the chassis and into the boot.

did mine pretty much as above

used the existing grommet which the rear screen wash pipe goes through, then just fed the cable along the passenger side under the door seals to the boot

Did you put the remote wire and phono cables from the headunit down the same side or did you put them up the drivers side?

remote up same side, phonos down the drivers side
