hi, just a quick question, what fuse's should you have in a amp, my 25amp fuse blew at the amp so i replaced it, as soon as i put it in a flame come out the bottom and there was alot of smoke! Whats that mean?

Look for something shorting to earth.

yea second that ... could be a short circuit somewhere making a closed loop, making the resistance stupidly big and heating shit up real quick, or coz of the 25Amp fuse, it may of been too big somehow lol causing too much current to go thru the amp and like its fucked something, fried it. Iv usualy found that connections inside have melted causing smoke and such !

new amp me thinks

can you recommend any decent shops (online) and a decent but not too pricey amp to drive a Fusion EN-PK112

sounds like your amp is blown.

looking at another thread on here, could it also be caused by a split in the wire some where?

depends what fuse is blowing.. if its the one under your bonnet thats blowing then possibly. if its the ones in the amp then i doubt it.

to be honest i haven't checked the one at the battery but i guess thats fine as when i put a new fuse in the amp it blew straight away at the amp

you got the earth and live cables going to the amp mixed around? i did that accidentally (they were the same colour) and it was like Novermber 5th in the back of my car. 3 x 30Amp fuses blown. Was lucky i didnt blow the amp up tbh. And that i didnt electrocute myself

well if it came with the 25 then id stick with that coz it wont be the fuse thats too high, i reken it will be somthing crossing somewhere making a short.

ermm i aint no expert on amps but u gotta look for a good rms output rather then max thats if u have some hardcore sub and shit.

But for example is your fusion 400w ? if it is then say like a 200-300 watt amp would do nicley. these are max outputs tho, not rms. If you start working in phat rsm values you are looking at shit loads of money lol.

And decent shops man erm........ i know a shop but it may not be online i have bought an amp from there b4 it was wicked till i blew it lol ...... but its called bass bin in birmingham, iv only dealt with them once and they did sort me out. i aint got a clue about any other shops man sorry.

could be that aswell, or sometimes iv found that when iv stripped the remote wire it could well be touching the +ve and -ve !!!!

also check if u got a wicked ground.

the amp was working fine untill i picked up my new tv, got me tv home went back out and it didnt work, so i haddnt actulary unplugged anything and it worked before
