8v or 16v?

It's an 8v, just had a full refresh with new belts, gaskets, pumps etc.

looking at gettin a 16v gti whats the power from an 8v?

Around 113 BHP if I rememeber rightly.

I find the 8v slightly more tractable as it doesnt need to be revved so much.

yea your best off with a 8v like he said no need to rev so much and 0-60 are bit better iv discovered wen i had mine against my mates. tidy car
