just done a gt conversion on my mk3 cl, changed clocks to gt ones but rev guage dont work.

the engine bay loom is a bit bodged any ides as to cause?

Could be your loom then. The ECU picks up a signal via the middle wire on the dizzy & sends it to the rev counter. So theres a few things to check. It could be the dizzy thats on its way out.

One of the three wires that plugs into the coil (I think its the middle one on the plug) may have a dodgey connection. Also, you may find with your car that with it being a later spec Mark3 the oil pressure warning light and buzzer triggers, despite having an early engine and early clocks. This is because the interior loom is still late spec item and unfortunately not compatible with the clocks.
