the strip under the lights/grill on a mk3

Featured Replies

right, I'm somewhat new to this site, so I'm hoping this is in the right place.

basically, my polo (the jem that it is) has had a little front end knock somewhen in its history, and the stip under the lights/grille has been bent inwards.

is there any way of straightening it out/replacing it? i'll post some pics later if it helps.

cheers

take the radiator out an grill bumper etc an knock it back out with a rubber mallet(dependent on size of dent)?

Or an easier way would be to use a filler to bridge or fill in over the bent part an smooth it so it looks normal :) (primer an paint then laquer afterwards)

Or you can buy the grille rail seperately from Euro Car Parts:

REPLACEMENT n/a 840440470 GRILLE RAIL POLO 91-94 POLO 91-94

If you can get the old one cut off and the new one spot welded in place, then painted should tidy things up nicely.
