Feeler

I do apologise if this is in the wrong section, It's not local but it's not major either so move it if needs be. :-)

In january I will have finished my 2 yr probationary period of full license ownership :-D . To celebrate I fancied going over border into foreignerland for a blast around the Nurburgring Nordschleiffe.

I'm not thinking of going until about april/may But I know that if it falls to me to organise I'm gonna need plenty of time to sort it all out, dates/time off/camping grounds/foreign policy and all the associated gunk of going abroad.

I want to go for about a week, Take a lesiurely pace down sort of 2 days there 2 days back maybe I haven't even looked to see how far it is yet! and maybe not the straightest of routes either, taking any sights as take my fancy.

I would also be a bit concerned about taking responsibility for other peoples travel arrangements like the ferry/chunnel because if i made a mistake and we don't find out until we got to the ferry someones gonna be extremely miffed with me.

So purely as a feeler i'm just looking for a show of hands, so to speak, as to how many people would be interested and how many people will get in the car and go now

To me it's like, I'm going to the 'Ring, you wanna come along? So if you do, let me know with a pm or similar and I will let you know when i'm going.

I was speaking to a friend of mine about this last night and he mentioned that he fancied going to some show at assen which could turn into two big birds with one medium sized stone. So I need to find out all the details of dates travel itinerary and shi and i can then let you both know an idea of what and when, if your still interested by that point...

I'm quite interested in this, and id definatley be up for going but it depends alot on price, time, and more importantly if the car is in a state to drive, as next year ill probably be doing a fair bit of bodywork on it. :ninja:

That and you valvers will bully me

I get bullied too don't worry, but I like my Blocky Bumpers  so up yours

Prices will definately be restrictive by the the look of things, the figure i remember from this afternoon looking on the web was 18 euros per lap

Don't the laps take about 20 minutes though?! lol.

Yo, this sounds phat. I'd be up for it. Was hoping to go next summer with some mates anyway, but the sooner the better!!

theres something wrong if you are guna be doing a lap of the ring in 20 mins lol i wish i could go but iam planning a trip in 2009 when i finish my apprenticeship and have some real money to make the most of it !

lap of the ring? Sounds good. I'd be interested but nobody would talk to me so i'd feel lonely! lol.

And price/timing would be an issue too.

Why would no one talk to you?

I'm interested 8-)

I'm interested as well, though if the rocco is on the road, I may take that, all depends on timing and cash really

I may just have lost my lisence this week so I'm gonna call it off for me at least until i know i have kept it.

shit thats not kool. whys that?

must be interesting to potentially have 6 points!

id be up for the ring trip but again if my car is working and whether i have tamed the power and haven't spent the money!!

It's all a bit long winded really. I had my license revoke a while back for accruing 6 points over 2 speeding tickets (sp30) on the totting up system. Was able to simply take my test again but the points are still valid.

On friday morning i had to drop of my mum at work and i decided to take the long easy way back to my work via jct 15+16 of the m4. doing between 74 and 80 and noticed a van on a bridge. thought nothing of it, then spotted the black square in the side and thought oh shit. Not sure how fast i was going because by the time i started trying to work out if i was foobarred or not i could't remember exactly how fast i was travelling. and it also depended on how far back he was focused becase some tool was trying to overake at 1mph faster than me and i got bored...

I spoke to a guy at work who is gonna become a copper next month and he said that 10% of the speed limit is ok and that my speedo will be optimistic anyway, which is a good point, but then i remembered i have bigger alloys than factory so it should make the speedo more accurate, unless the aspect ratio means that the outer circumfrence of my tyre is the same as a standard one which i can pray for but doubt very much. Anyway, semi rant over. feel free to judge or try and make me feeel happier, preferably latter though  gatso_farbar.jpg

Could've simply been a dirty old man taking sneaky pix with his van-mounted camera... :?

Hope things work out for you..
