your 8v looks so clean....5 door FTW!!

I remember seeing this ages ago when you got all the detailing stuff. Havnt seen any updates since then so this was a very good read Car looks spot on mate all i would do is paint the front badge black. And what was wrong with the 1st set of rims you bought?

5 door open air ftw mate !!

I must have missed something here, why are them lights not on? they're pure craftwork them bad boys.

so simple and effective.

Cheers guys, I sold the Ronals to pay for the tyres really and regarding the rear lights I’m experimenting with different types of lacquer at the moment as a set I’ve tinted in the past has reacted badly to the lacquer being applied over the top so I’m doing a spare light I’ve got lying around before I touch mine :-)

Minter !!!!

Just a quick update, got bored of running the orange lights and decided to freshen the car up a bit. Bought some clear front indicators and smoked side ones complete with chrome look bulbs which flash orange to get rid of the fried egg look. The mk4 lights I tinted may be on later this year as I’m experimenting with some lacquer at the moment as from past experience if you use the wrong lacquer the tint spray will react messing everything up. Anyway picked up some mk5 red rears from a scrappy a while ago and fitted them too.

Excuse the phone pics, was out and about when I took em so didn’t have my digi cam to hand..

lookin good, cant go wrong with that combo of lights............love it with the standard lights tho...for some reason your motor really pulled them off!

Yeah know what you mean, it looked cool with the all orange lights but all red rears is where my heart was, ran the all orange look for well over a year so i'm glad to have freshened the car up with the new lights..don't look too bad when its dirty now.

this is an absolutely prime polo! i must say i prefered the orange lights though mate!

and also, to be really picky, the rear drum breaks kind of let it down...

your car looks sooo sickk mate, just goes to show you haven't gotta smooth out every little thing for a car to look good,

also loving the stance aswell, imo deffo one of the best 5 doors atm

oh also openairs are the way forward :-D 8-)

this is a lovely clean example mate, absolutley love the wheels, get them drums painted black and if I'm bein picky i don;t like the number plates

keep up the good work and keep us updated

Dare I say it, the best looking 6n on the road? It certainly wins me over, I'd buy this without having to think about it.

Wicked looking car

what wheels are they ??

allright mate wen u fitted your coilies on the front and put you are 16v alloys bk on did they rub on the colies or are u using spacers???

allright mate wen u fitted your coilies on the front and put you are 16v alloys bk on did they rub on the colies or are u using spacers???

if that is occurring your camber is too negative!

needs the 2 lower bolts slackening off and then the hub pulling towards you from the top to straighten it more before re tightening.

then go get it all set up correctly

Cheers for the comments guys!

Re the drums, yeah I noticed they were looking a little rusty too, will be painting them soon. Maybe when they come off for some work ;)

Polo g - cheers dude, I noticed yours looked quite similar over this summer just gone, what et were you running on your teledials after adapters? Also looking forward to seeing your new wheels :-)

Jonny - Don't worry I'll keep you guys updated, there will be another update soon :-D

BSJ1 - They are Artec Pa's in 7x15.

Gharbud - They cleared the coilovers fine without spacers, I used to hear a strange noise on full lock but had no clue what it was. When it went in for the MOT found it was rubbing on the inner arches on full lock. Fitted 5mm spacers on the front and the noise on full lock was gone, was comical watching the MOT guys looking under the car with all their different mirrors to see if it caught on full lock when I took it for the retest

p.s that was with the tracking perfectly aligned

Right time for an update,

In case you missed it I took the Artecs off and bought some 16's which can be seen here;

It looked like this for a few weeks,

IMG_0458.jpg

That was very much a temporary look as I was having fun playing about with the car and experimenting with new wheel sizes.

Anyway I had picked up some new wheels before the multispokes and the plan was to put these on after the Artecs, the multispokes were put into storage and the Artecs were sold, the new wheels went on yesterday:

They sit 11mm further out than the Artecs and sit like this on the rear!

Looks a bit high for some reason but the height is the same, so I'll leave up to you to imagine how they look in the arches :p ;)

Don't leave us hanging :( show us your rims ;) no sexual meaning behind this honest haha
