Ahh headache, having trouble with the tyre sealing on the lip, already been back once, off there now to hopefully get it sorted!

Still need to get decent pics with the wheels, but hopefully they'll be on for a while so plenty of time..

Ok time for a big update:

If you were ever wondering why there were not so many pics of my passenger side this is why, back in Aug 08 while the car was parked outside my house someone decided to hit it and do a runner leaving this damage to my car :(

So after visiting the body shop it was either £300 for them to spray up another replacement door that I would have to provide or £550 if I wanted the front and rear doors sprayed. I got a quote for the rear door as ever since I bought the car it had seen some dodgy repair with filler present under the paint and generally a very flat and orange peel look.. Anyway it was either foot the bill for the body shop or some new rims, seen as I was bored with the look of the car I decided to splash out on some rims And that’s where the Artecs come in.. Still annoyed with driving a car with a busted door I decided to wack the poop out of it to improve the dent as best I could, it looked alright from far but it was still foobar'd..

Fast forward 6 months later. After looking every week in local scrap yards in the summer and on ebay every other day for polo's which were being broken for spares in the same colour I couldn't find one (windsor blue is rarer than I thought)..Anyway one day on ebay popped up a windsor blue 5 door 6n non runner, the auction was not very helpful as to the condition of the car and neither were the pics.. Taking a risk I bought it and had a mission getting a non runner back home from Brighton! A few calls to the RAC later and the car was eventually home (at 3am)! The dude was only available during the evenings so the condition of the car was still a bit unknown.

Turns out the passenger side doors were the best panels on the car, with every other panel having some sort of damage in the form of dents, scuffs and rust! RESULT!!

Now while this was all happening I sold the Artecs and bought some new wheels and got them professionally refurbed.. powder coated bright silver centres with my classic diamond turned lip look! You can see a sneak peak above!

Well... here they are!!

Freshly waxed ready to go on the car..( in winter )

I got my 165/50 bridgestone swapped over, put them on the car and with a bit of messing about they sit like this!

Over the moon with them to be honest! Fill the arches much better and I love that skinny lip look! The metal seems to be of better quality than the artecs so the diamond turned finish is much brighter on these! Never guess they were produced in 1988 huh :p

Anyway got the doors swapped over in a weekend, and polished them up with a rotary and gave it a fresh coat of collinite! Sounds easy but with the doors being from the base model I had to switch all the internals, electric windows, electric mirrors, central locking, the wiring, the handles, not mention sound deaden the door! Here's my new panels!

Cheers dudes, bought the wheels second hand (they were produced in 1988), they were in average condition painted all silver, but got them professionally refurbished to get them looking like this, they are 7x15.

re the other polo, lol needs must! Would rather it didnt get damaged but atleast now my rear door is in good condition too, plus didn't cost me anything but time and hassle seen as I've sold it on now.

Yeah i've got the mk5 rear lights on as I don't want my mk4 ones to fade, might put the mk4 ones on for shows. I'm keeping the bump stripes, I like them and I don't want any dents.

what you gonna do about an openair sticker on your passenger side or are you taking the other one off?

Thanks, I need to go see vw to see if they do the sticker. If they don't them I'll try get a sign writer to make something up which looks like the original, if they can't do that then maybe get a custom one made up. Will look into it in a while, busy with other stuff at the moment.
