Traffic Sign question....

Featured Replies

Well we got a proposed sign layout for outside, nothing exciting, but surely the work experience kid has made this sign?

RIGHT TURNERS

surely that is just grammatically wrong?

surely it is "RIGHT TURNING VEHICLES"

I'm unsure, but it just sounds stupid, a true yorkshire sign, "AH TURN RIGHT UP ERE THOL LAD"

what everyone else think?

I think it should be "Vehicles Turning Right"

But I was never good at english

If you look at the phrase above it, that uses "right turners"

So it is consistant,

Also it is labelled as an information sign and therefore can basically be any phrase, deemed suitable.

Also your phrase"right turning vehicles" isn't general enough as cyclists, mobility scooters arn't vehicles and they might turn right.

I assume station road is the side road to the left of the picture?

There's a few signs round here that use the same phrasing as that. It just looks odd for some reason :?

"Eeh bah gum lad, ee's a right turner e is"

You should put in a request for some more "STOP - hammertime" signs Dan. Almost died laughing when I was in a taxi on the way to my work's do in Huddersfield a couple of years ago when it went past one of those.

LOL you even made FHM or the likes didn't it?

As for "Right Turners" i have seen it used before on yellow signs near traffic lights. Must just be so everybody gets what it means.
