Only reson am thinking of ratting one is because I seen one ages ago in a field rotting away and so as metros rust very well I thought ratting an old metro would be both funny and different.

Haha, I think it'd work, but you'd have to be carefull with the rust, as you dont want it to become structural, and it'll spread A LOT faster than on dubs. Slammed on some 12 or 13 by 7 minilights with a roof rack and all the trimmings it'd make a pretty nice little rat beast.

If I was you I'd go for a later rover metro version though, the K-series powered one, that way you can just drop in a 120bhp 1.6 16V out of a 216s and have a little sleeper. There a straight swap and go like stink!

While the suspension leaks, the mk1/2/3 guys amongst us reaaally cant take the piss! I dont see you with double wishbone front suspension and indipendant trailing arms on the rear. Metros handle like beasts with a bit of attension to the shocks and GTI ARBs. Pluss all you need is a hydrogas pump and a hacksaw to lower and stiffen them, which is less than a lowering kit. So good as a budget beast. Metty GTI seats are lush too.
