10 fcuking years to pass a driving test!!!!!!!!!!!!

2 years MAXIMUM and if you cant pass in that time, then you dont deserve a bloody license.

i got cut up majorly by one last night on a roundabout and he very nearly went into the side of me if i hadnt of slammed the anchors on. what angers me more is the damn instructor didnt seem to know what he had done wrong

Yeah..you can't blame the learners..they're learning! It's the instructors that are to blame..they should know the students capability..and if they don't, they certainly shouldn't be out on public roads..

I think it should be re-taken periodically! not just 40+ years after it was first taken! If most of the users on here were to re-take their tests this week, i'm certain a larger percentage than you'd like would fail! If everyone had some form of top-up lessons every 5-10years or something there would be far less accidents on the road.

Those causes are avoidable. Thinking back to when you passed your test, all of your mirror checks were spot on etc. The failing to judge speed comes as we all know with experience. But if you only glance at someone coming towards you you won't know how fast they are traveling. With a bit more observation from everyone the roads would be a much safer place. Remember to always be able to stop in the distance you see to be clear, and if you're on a single track, or where sombody could be in your path coming the other way increase that to two or three times your breaking distance to allow them to stop too!

The number of idiots I've seen out in these icy conditions already astounds me :(

yeah I'm still i learner

i think everyone should be doing theory before being behind the wheel or at least have experience at an legal area

like a driving centre where its private and anyone can drive

luckily i made myself read the highway code before i went on a road and next the area i live is private lanes so got driving exp there in my polo =)
