Number plate light?

Featured Replies

After fitting my 16v rear bumper. Both of the numberplate lights on the bumper has stopped working...

Is it legal to drive around without your rear plate lit up? Or will the coppers have a go at you.

I think it looks better without the lights on the plate 8-)

Cheers

Number plate lamps are a legal requirement.

They're also one of those things the police tend to see as being a bit dodgy if you're riding around without them working, and they often like to have a good look around the rest of your vehicle if they pull you for it as they take it as a sign you're up to something.

its best to have them in mate.

They're only a legal requirement if you're car is equipped with them as standard!

I had a 2000 Seat Arosa which didn't have any number plate lights. Never ever had a problem, police nor MOT

Is that a bit like if the traffic cops can't see a speed limit sign, it doesn't count?

You are a genius!...I was sooo hooked up tryna fit the bloody bumper on that I forgot to plug them in at all :lol:

Now I only can manage to plug one in...as the other one is lost inside the bumper...

You have any pikey techniques up your sleeve that helps to to locate the other one without pulling the whole bumper off... :unibrow:

gavin,,,they look better with the Xenon 501 push fit led things,,,,dont look too blue..

my rear plate hasn't been lit up since i brought it off modest! Not had a problem yet! probably won't have now either!
