Component speakers

Featured Replies

Right i've been told i need a budget of about £100 for a good set of components. I've been having a look at alpine type s/r components, but i am only going to be powering them from a headunit giving 4X60w (max) so i was thinking is there much point of going for the best and most powerful components there are? what else is there that i could consider?

Thanks for the help in advance :-D

I also have alpine type s on an alpine 4x60w headunit which sound good but i heard some amped the other day and they sound actually incredible. just in the process of finding an amp myself now

so do they sound much better than standard then? since you both obviously changed over from standard speakers on your cars, my mate said that i may lose quality since they will be underpowered, and should really be amped. But i don't think i can be asked with 2 amps trying to keep it simple, just one amp and sub and just a set of decent speakers for the front. nothing over the top

Thanks for the replies :D

4 chanel amp? and tbh unless youve heard some amped components you wont know the difference.

yeah - 4 channel with 2 bridged for sub is what I'm running or could get a 3 channel amp with a dedicated sub channel

tbh with an aftermarket headunit they should be fine running directly off it - an improvement over the oem speakers anyway, but if you have the cash amping them wouldn't hurt :D

a 4 channel won't be powerful enough will it? for amp and sub i'm thinking these...

Amp

Sub

and i am now considering amping them seperately, would it be feasible to stick the amp underneath the seat to save space?

thinking of a two channel jbl amp running 2X100 watts rms and some type r alpine components

the sub is fine but the amp will not get the full potential outta the sub imo. to get the best youll need to be looking at giving the sub around 900-1000w :D

I've found the ebay link for the Infinity componenents, so please ignore my last post!

Amp and sub a good choice mate, got the amp running a 10" Type R ... except the amp now isn't workin!! Sounded great before but ask them about reliability before parting with your wedge, I'm trying to get my head around what's not working at the mo, coz nothing's blown!

Just a quick shout before you spend is all.

Alpine type R comp's off the headunit shake the mirrors in mine, 4x60 into Type R comp's front & 6x9's rear (Tastefully concealed!), sound quality is great. Amp it later if you're happy with the sound and want more!
