i know someone who banger races, they are a fan of novas. Easy to find cheap or failed mot's, build a cage and they go well due to light weight etc.

i was thinking maybe a mrk2 golf

me and my cousin used to do this at arena essex years ago..used old Funeral cars and prepared em at his lock up on canvey island...was absolutley awesome..I never drove em as it was a while ago but id bloody love to now.

i was thinking of giving it a go looks fun i would love to have a go at endurence racing but all in good time

when i was a kid some of the lads of my estate used to do it and we'd all go over and watch, was a good laugh, but they were the days when you could just pull up in a car, smash the windows, lights and put a helmet on and enter a race then leave it in the field when you were done

with all the health and safety shit now its quite an expensive hobby to have now i believe

Polo coupes crumple like anything. I got some nice Coupe seats before that happens though lol. :-D Volvo estates or Cavaliers FTW!

cortina's, granarda's and rover sd1's used to me the order of the month when we used to go, saw many a 2 door mk2 escort end its days on the track as well :(

nissan bluebirds! there bullet proof. alot wont let you use volvos any more as they just dont die and were too dangerous. sierras granadas and big american cars are good too

id use a nova or corsa! that way id love to smash the shit out of it! a VW id wanna repair it

Yeah, but novas are solid...

haha yeah thats what i thought was wierd, easier ti get holf of though and can be nippy around the track. Its easier to get hold of a cheap quickish nova or corsa than a quick vw cheap.

volvo/cavalier/bluebird/corolla blatently!

I used to race Mk.1 Derby's back in the day They did very well, as long as you could avoid hitting the front too badly, and just use the back end as a battering ram. Old Datsuns also did well

when i used to banger race up at Birmingham wheels, we used to use old fords mk1/2 escorts, sierra's and cortinas.

just weld up the diff to lock them and they drift round the track. was good fun building racing and smashing them up.

i reckon an e30 3 series bmw would be good, get it sideways then!

Also agree with will_pig, bluebirds are proper tanks for banger racing, i think they are favoured by the regulars at the mo
