summer days with the top down pimping about is sooo tempting lol

what are they like to own? reliable etc

I've heard that they leak aswell, how common is this problem? (although id have it in the summer probably)

also, would my 13x7 classics fit on one??

good idea, I've been tempted to go for one of these too there very nice indeed! but i dont think id cope well with an old skool car after having the Polo for so long!

Good cars. Used to own a 1990 GTi version.

Buy the best you can afford.

Original cars are now hard to find. Buy one if you get the chance.

Hoods do leak and both hoods and seals can mount up pricewise.

Most have been abused or owned by lowlifes/skinflints at some point so buy carefully.

Lots of previous keepers are the norm for the average car as people tend to keep them for a couple of summers then move them on.

Auto's are slow(painfully so)

Check rear suspension mountings/towers for rust

Cheap to maintain as mechanical is Mk.1 Golf.

Steering can be heavy at parking speeds

Brakes are OK in stock form(better than a Mk.2 Polo)

Invest in a good steering lock and alarm with microwave sensors.

1990 onwards GTi spec had electric hood as standard. Check it works.
