thanks people

the wheels are 8x13 alleycats, bit off caliper issue but all is sorted now, i still have to refurb the wheels, their a bit dull of themselfs

it wont be blingin cos its only single pac paint lol, the cheap stuff, just cos she isnt shiney doesnt mean she wont get noticed

as for suspension, i couldnt lower the back even if i wanted to, if anything i need to stiff them up, but i will lower the front a bit maybe, it will have that hot rod stance

Looks mental! Keep it coming! Get the rear arches out more so you can deck it :D

the rear arches were a bastard too do, ill lower the front a bit

still need mot, cant wait to actually drive it on the road

As said on edition... i love it!!!!! :-D

i think that looks niccccccccccce

where did you get your alley cats from?

Can't argue with that mate. I always appreciate cars that the owner has just had a go regardless of how it'll turn out. You only learn if you try doing it!!

With some lower profile tyres and some lowering it will be highly pimp

looks schweeet :D

i got the allet cats of ebay, they were in a bad state and i paid to too much, but they were off a vauxhal chevette so 4x100 8x13 =)

and i dont think ill get lower profile tyres, I'm liking em chunky man if i being honest, i do like lower profile as well, but this is what the tyre man had in stock at a good price

thats fantastic 8-)

Drop it 40 or 60mm at the front and get some coilies for the rear and set them right at the top maybe? Should stiffen things up nicely. And obviously you can then lower it as far as possible at the rear without worrying about buying different springs every time it rubs/looks too high.

My Mk3 breadvan had scrubbing marks on the rear tyres, and they were standard bar 10mm spacers, so I definately wouldn't drive it hard like that as the arches will rip the tyres to shreds.

Best of luck whatever you do! :D

can you get coilies for the back?

i have new shocks ready to be fitted but no springs

yea mk1 golf rear coilovers fit.

edit so will the fronts thanks to YP for finding that out with a little modification.

what is this ' little modifaction '

ill have to look for a cheap pair

It's not a little modification... It involves chopping and welding the steering arm back on, modifying top mounts etc.

Stick with springs on the front and coilies for the rear I reckon...

would there be any problems have coilirs on the back and spring o the front??

i think the ride might be a bit wierd

You want to match the spring rates, if the front is softer than the back it will make it handle much worse, from what i understand.

looking good nice turnaround

if you want to lower it get some smaller tyres they may have a stretch but the side walls are huge.if it was me id get some 195/45/13s for a smaller side wall then you can get her down a bit just an idea
