If you want to get picky, then computers now fall within the definition of the type of equipment that would need a TV licence. Never heard of it being enforced in that way though, but it wouldn't surprise me if they had a go at some point in the future.

Admittedly so, but I can forsee a situation where students are going to have to have their own TV licence in halls of residence, even if they've got no TV of their own but have brought along a computer which is then hooked up to the university's network.

this BBC player and 4on demand are both temporary. They are going to be merging but the name still isnt decided. its all to do with the huge internet tv revolution that there is at the moment, sky is getting left behind in it though.

Pretty sure my girlfriend needs a TV license for her laptop at uni..or something stupid like if it's plugged into the university accomodation's mains then she needs one..
