Seen as I'm off work and have some spare time I have started on my cage. I'm getting there but i'm still pissed off and might sell whole the "fing" thing. I can't seem to stay motivated I made a list last night and its longer than Santa's list was a couple of days ago.

The front dash bar is in and all I need to do is cut the bottom of the dash off all the way along as I won't need a glove box ashtray, or that under the stearing wheel storage.

I have managed to get he braces behind the seat. I did not have access to the welder today so they are loose. Welder tomorrow.

When this is completed I will get theAFH in, and the 1,000,000 other jobs still to be completed before the season starts. Practice day is last week in March ........ I hate working to deadlines.

Cageless and stock 1300 single point ........ Glory days.

Nowt to the mk2 saloon ....... got to get this finished as the Harewood Hill practice day is the last saturday in March. Have you got your cage or are you building one. ? AAS (not sure if thats right ) next to B&Q on the Tyne can bend the main hoop and two front legs. the rest is straight pieces.

Looks spot on that- if you weren't thinking about it already, I'd add a bar between the main hoop and rear turret, lots of the Berg Boys have this, I put one in my Mk1:

I have mate you can see them lying on the bottom nextt to the screen gussets in pic 2 or 3.

I look forward to hearing it with AFH power as its on 40's ............ engine is rebuilt, carbs and manifold is on, exhaust is sorted, just need the megajolt ingition wiring up and toss the engine ....... sound like i have got very little to do ! but I made a list coverd every line on 3 sheets of A4 paper.......

I don't have any measurements ...... however for the main hoop and the front legs were produced by "AAS" Advanced Automotive Systems in Newcastle, they have the tube bend details stored on their CNC bending machine and could produce the main hoop and front legs. These are the only bent bits. Its worth noting that you may have to trim your dash as mine goes through the speaker holes. The rest is just straight tubes cut to size and shaped to fit. A couple of re-enforcing plates as per the MSA blue book and away you go. You need to be able to weld of course and have the skill to trim your girl friends fingernails with a 4" grinder.

If you want a cutting list I'll knock one up and post it on here. Happy to help.

yeh that'd be mint mate,cheers,yeh i can weld,i rebuild campervans,volkswagens of course so i reckon i could trim the missus' nails with the 9" grinder...i dont want it to be approved by the MSA,i jus want a road going track lookalike,1 seat and all that..i jus buzz off bein in race cars if you know what i mean...the cage would be purely for looks,and my personal 'want'....the measurements would be mint please pal as my mate has a pipe bender,he makes F2 stock cars.i reckon he could help me do it..Cheers Genesis Jim
