Red Coupe S

Featured Replies

I bought this car from a guy in Glasgow about 5 months ago.I was

looking really tatty when i went to see it but the genuine 47k miles

and the fact that it had a FULL VW sevice history right up to 36k

swung it for me and i was amazed when the guy took £50 for it.

So i set about cleaning it up and getting it ready for it's MOT.It just

needed a service and a small weld done on the drivers side sill to pass.

I put some new mirrors on and hauled out the old alarm....

Then i cleaned up the wiper arms, painted them and fitted new blades...

And then fitted a set of BBS Ra's from my G40 today....

I know it looks as if it's on stilts and the suspension is the next on the list.

Any comments, good or bad are welcome.... :-D

Looking well nice.. a bargain!! :)

this is looking really smart scott!! i love it mate... some lowerage, sweet!

Thats a bloody bargain if ever I saw one!

Looks to have cleaned up really nicely. Personally I'd loose the pinstripes up the sides and I actually rather like original alloys but it still looks very smart indeed. 8-)

Of course it could do with being hit with the lowering stick, but hey you haven't gotta go mad.

Very nice car, especially for the money.

Sublime, I want the exact same colour/wheel combination if I ever get another Mk2.

Give it -40mm on a good kit and look for some engine enhancements.

By the way, how much of a pain was extracting the old alarm? Got the same quantum device on mine and I need shot of it to make room.

I've removed a few alarms and immobilisers. That its never taken more than half hour explains why, though if they did a good job with fitting, you may need a soldering iron. Lookin nice with those wheels, defo agree with Danny on the 40mm drop,it'll look just right. I think they're the best S seats, just a case of sourcing a scrap passenger one to restore the worn drivers side.
