Hi all!!

My names Cliff , I'm 21 and from Ireland. This is my 6N 1.0 Litre 8v... Its my first car actually given to me by my mam a couple of years back. I'm in college and am hopefully finishing up this summer so its kinda been built on a stretched budget! My plan is to get it all tidyied up and dialed in for a quick sale next summer! (Hoping to move onto a corrado VR or something like that)!I've done most the work myself except welding and spraying to keep costs down. The full spec list is below followed by some quite old pics... Really need to get it tidy'd up before I get anymore posted up, but bear in mind there has been changes since.

Coilovers fitted all round and wound down

New black mats inside

New chrome door sills missing

New Flip up Dvd (Kenwood) missing

rear view camera missing

Suspension: Phils Coilovers wound down approx 80mm

Brakes: Standard

Wheels and Tyres: Borbet Type T alloy wheels – (Rears are 14x8” -Fronts are 14x7”) Uniroyal Rainsport tyres all round 195/45/14

Exterior Styling:

16V Front Bumper – Upper side grills and toeing eye smoothed

Colour coded front oem splitter

16V Rear Bumper – Toeing eye smoothed.

Crystal PowerLook Front Headlights

Crystal Front indicators to match headlights.

6000k HID Kit

Custom Bad-boy bonnet with washer jets deleted

Washer jets relocated to scuttle panel.

Bonrath badgless front grill.

Crystal side indicators

Side bump strips deeted

All Red rear lights

Smoothed boot – All badges and handle

Solenoid fitted to boot running from rear wiper switch

Rear wiper removed and Cult Society blanking plate fitted.

Shortened original B-sting ariel.

German Style pressed metal reg plates

White LED rear numberplate lights.

All new bodyparts resprayed original black and the whole car professionally moped to repair faded paint.

Tinted Rear 3 windows (Dark…ish)

Front passenger side delocked (using rear door handle)

Brake callipers and rear drums painted black.

Uniroyal Rainsport tyres all round 195/45/14

Audi TT Black Leather Front Seats (working on getting heaters working)

Carpet taken out and fully shampooed and cleaned

All plastics colour coded gloss black (33 pieces and counting)

Wolfsburg Edition Chrome heater control dials

Chrome Gear stick Surround

Chrome Door pulls and Door pins

Chrome Gearknob

Audi TT Pedals

Chrome door sills

Lockwood White Dial Kit (1 of about 10 specially made in group buy for late 99 spec 8V Polos)

Custom made Gauge pod fits under airbag on passenger side (hold 3 gauges)

Custom made Phone holder instead of Driver side Air-vent

Custom rear Parcel Shelf made from 18mm thick MDF covered in black carpet and leather. Has Perspex VW crest in the centre and holds two 6x9s. Crest and speakers illuminate up when the boot is open with blue LEDs in the roof panel above.

New black mats all round.

Ice and Security:

Kenwood Flip up DVD with MP3 etc..

Uprated dash speakers (10cm Sony)

Custom parcel shelf with perspex VW crest

Holding 6x9s - Pioneer

12" sub in ported box with matching amp.

Colour rear view camera hooked up...

Hawk remote central locking kit fitted.

fix front bumper and fit new splitter... (6N2 GTi item)

Possibly custom sump gaurd

never said it was bad! i think it may be the camara angle but makes it look qutie high at the back. do love it though.

polo shuff 6N - Budget actually wasnt much... stretched out over three years or so... If you do as much work as possible yourself and are willing to learn you'd be amazed what you can get done for the money... Plus good shopping... Got the bonnet for 50euro (Approx 30Sterling) already badboy'd! Ha just needed some work...

any under bonet pics? want to see how you induction kit has been fitted as peple seem to do it all in different ways n places.

Love the car mate, can't help but think the front wheels could be spaced out a bit?

Much work to fit the front TT seats in?

@Dom101 - Well Ill have a look later on my hard drive for an old pic of it.. Its all pulled apart at the min, plastics and heatshield removed and stuff being colour colded and polished.... Its basically a small universal one sittin on top of throttle body with a black aluminium heat shield in a rectangular box around it... Its soon being replaced with old airbox with filter removed leading to a polished aluminium pipe down the side with a Jetex filter on the end soon.... Bear with me, itll be a while before I get to work on it!

@Dub James - Ye your not actually wrong there... Always thought that myself... Might try track down some cheap 10mm Spacers... 10mm wouldnt need to be hubcentric would they? or would I need longer bolts? Know I can get 6mm ones for free off a mate...

And about the TT seats... Ye a big job alright but actually thought it would be harder.. One of my favourite mods by far... Got them for cheap off ebay... fitted them myself with aid of welder friend!

Not sure about the spacers mate, but personally I'd want to go for hubcentric..

And yeah I love the seats they look good You have to modify the frames to make them fit then?

Sorry bouth the delay... Well no not really... What I did was:

Remove old polo seat

Cut crapet under seat and folded in forward and backward (Would burn when welding)

Remove the old front mount for seat

Put Audi TT seat as far back as it would go in sliders

Made a rear support from flat thick solid bar

Placed the TT seat in and set it so I knew where it would be when fully back

Then it was a case of leveling its runners off to get it sitting right... Any sort or spacers. I used wood

Then From thick solid L shaped steel I cut small brackets... 4 for each seat (1 each corner)

Mounted them up to the runners still in the floor... Welded em in

Checked seat was still right and door would shut etc...and welded the brackets to side of TT sliders..

Some primer, satin black and replaced carpets... Fixed with thick velcro and double sided tape (trimmed around brackets)

Youd never know carpet had been cut like this.. and brackets look factory..

Seat keeps its function and sits just perfect

Hope that gives a better idea of whats going on.. Its abit worrying cutting out the front polo mount cos then you know you cant put it back in if it goes pear shaped but at least if you start and do the passenger side first you'll get it sorted snad still have a drivable car. Had my Girlfriend sitting in the back for a few trips LOL. Good luck if you try it... any more help just ask!

So am I right in thinking that the runners came with the TT seats you bought, so you could just place it all into the polo at the same time and then make up the mounts?

how did you go about the gloss black plastics in the interior, did you rough them prime them and then spray them?

@ Dub James - Ye to cut a long story short ye... Take out the seat.. and make sure you get TT sliders with the seats when you get them.. Then place the whole lot in and youll figure it out what needs to be done after a while lookin at it... Get a metal fabricator or something to help...

@ Alx - Well.. Took em all off.. sanded em.. plastic filler primer... sanded em... few more coats filler primer ... wet sanded... and then got em sprayed when my car was being done...
