Raised the rear suspension on the Polo today, and took it for a test drive to see if it would still run the rear arches. It did on heavy cornering and sudden bumps so I'm going to need to stiffer springs.

I also decided that to add to the experience I needed MORE NOISE. So I removed the exhaust from the downpipe back. Very loud.

I then removed the exhaust system from the 205 XS (straight through system) and cut two sections out of it. Then I took the hacksaw to the Polo system and removed the centre box and welded one of the sections from the 205 exhaust in its place.

I tried it back on the back and it souded luuurrrvely but the tail pipe was sitting about 4 inches below the rear valance. Looking at it I could see that if I welded a pipe straight from the backbox it would come to the middle of the cut out, so out came the hacksaw/welder again and this is what I ended up with:

And it no longer blows ;D

That is some length you got there from the back box... looks good.. Bodge work is great :)

Wish I'd waited and sent pics of the banded steels now!

And the tail pipe is very long on saloons as they use the normal polo centre section and back box.... cost cutters!
