Got some pics of my polo G40 and my friends Williams this weekend. Booked it in to get a respray in a few weeks so i thought id post a few pics up before.

G40, Bodyworks a bit shabby but its all going to be tidied up in a few weeks, resprayed booked in for the 18th!

What i done this weekend, took the rear badges off and welded the holes up. Also took the rear lock off and have a smooth boot plinth to go in its place

They are nice, gonna stick out a bit at the front tho. had to get 20mm spacers for them to fit!

Do it White with Red interior ! ie engine bay ect .. ALthough you would need to do door shuts and boot / Inside of bonnet ..

Will look fresh with a lick of paint ..

You seen that on a mk2 on this forum?! Anyway you keeping the bumpers completely black or you colour coding the bottom halfs of them? You should stick with red in my opinion, a newly resprayed red will always stand out in the sun!!

colour coding the bottom half of the bumpers red and gonna do the top half gloss black with the arches and side strips.

Then after its got wheels on and resprayed I'm going to do the interior. I've got 2 options.

The back seats are stripped out by the way

A friend suggested stripping everything out the back spraying it matt black and putting a roll cage in which would look good as i have a welder friend who owes me some money so he said he could knock me up a roll cage, for show not proper use.

Or

I`ll plyboard the back out and cover it in black carpet with the roll cage in. This is what i was going to do before he suggested spraying the back.

Still undecided.

Why did you run 20mm spacers - to clear the brakes? if so, replace your carriers with the ones off a GT/cl... The G40 calipers, pads and discs all fit in fine, and the cl carriers have a better profile for fitting wheels...

Do you think i will still have to use spacers or should they fit straight on? Anybody got a pic to show me please?

I've got loads of bits to go on it too.

On the front I've got a debadged grill with the G40 logo going white, a silver strip to go between the red and black on the bumpers, a polished aluminium air intake in the bumper and some clear indicators, plain german plate and surround.

got some silver handle covers with "Supercharged" engraved in them, thanks to kam.

On the back I'm having a delocked boot plinth going red along with the boot spoiler, I've taken the badges off and I've got a VW1300 badge in white, another plain german plate with a surround and some clear red lights too.

I cant wait till its all done, I've got everything ready to go on it once its sprayed.
