my old polo - lots of pics

Featured Replies

well i was really bored today and was browsing through my Photobucket and thought i would post some snaps of my old polo :lol:

in the 3 years that i owned the car it went through quite a transformation, was for the best i think that you will agree....

how the car looked when i bought it

98rpolo3.jpg

got the windows tinted, fitted a new kamei grill and also a 16v bumper insert to get rid of all that silver up front. also had the skirts removed and the sills smoothed

polo16.jpg

next thing was some new wheels, loved the look of borbet T's and went for 14x8 ET15 all round

hawyzieepolo2.jpg

the wheels obviously scrubbed BADLY  but dues to seized coilovers i had to purchase a new set of fk highsports so i could adjust to a better height

as much as i liked the look with the wide wheels, i always thought they didn't look like part of the car as they poked out so much, like here

so the car underwent a massive facelift! arches pulled out about 1" all round, new front end, bonnet smoothed, new rear lights, hidden SS exhaust etc

arches being worked on

and how the car now looked

got bored of the tints so they came off

then on some G40 wheels borrowed from Del for it's trip to the bodyshop to have the boot redone, it was all smooth but i bought a new boot and had the plate recess kept on this one

and the boot

to complete the car the interior/engine bay had to be tackled. 16v doorcards, mk3 golf Recaro interior, mk4 golf leather knob, tt pedals did the trick inside whilst some polishing/cleaning and stainless manifold cleaned up the bay

anyways, hope that made for a pleasant read! was a great little car, don't miss it too much as the EK9 is a total hoot to drive, but thought i'd share some pics!

here's some final pics i got before it was sold

can you not see the pic of it in the bodyshop above with the wheel arches being brutalised? Think that kinda answers this
