Just a warning for everyone to take care out there on the roads as it might be dangerous.

SLOW. Its quite worrying when you stop at a junction and you can feel the lack of grip. Your car slides forward so easily when you come to a stop. Also if it's actually snowing while you're driving you can hardly see for shit.

Driving in snow is sooooo fun

I drove home from uni in the snow once, do the obvious, no sharp braking allow plenty of room for car in front. Also it helps to keep the revs up higher than usual I found...maybe I'm wrong tho..

Also, find an empty road with compacted snow and floor it into 3rd :badgrin:

i dont get to drive in the snow this year :( no car...but everyone that does have one be carefull...ill be out playin in the snow 2mz if it does...I'm such a big kid...:)

If you crusing along at a steady pace use as high a gear as possible to keep the revs down. Then you can use the gears to slow down, only use the brakes to stop dead.

And leave that handbrake well alone, I know its tempting but it can go very wrong. I've seen people buckle wheels, axles the lot just from one little touch of the handbrake.

Yea cruising along is easy tho I meant for hills/stop start traffic I found lower revs made things harder maybe it was the skinny tyres I had who knows. Never got tempted with the handbrake none of the car parks were big enough to be safe lol

Slow down going through the gears. Will help you stop sliding into the back of someone.

Obvious one is if your pulling away and the cars slipping or wanting to spin the wheels use 2nd instead of first. That way you won't suddenly get grip and end up in the back of the car in front

Just let your tyres down Top Gear style if you get bogged down in snow :biggrin:

Keep your speed down

Don't get overconfident

Allow extra distance to stop

Use as high a gear as possible

Use engine braking to assist slowing down

Don't make any sudden changes of speed or direction

If you skid - don't panic, take your feet off the pedals and keep the front wheels pointed towards where you want to go. If the engine starts to stall, or the car spins beyond recovery, put the clutch down.

If you are planning on dicking around. Go somewhere where you can't spoil anyone else's day apart from your own.
