Fiat 500 and Kia

it actually looks pretty sweet book weight anyone? it better not be a heffalump!

Light for a modern car, less than a tonne. I think it's about 950kg. Given the equipment and safety features, and the build quality that's impressive.

The Mini's actually heavier than a Skoda Fabia. 1135kg for a Mini One, to 1240kg for a Mini Cooper S.

The Cooper S actually weighs as much as a first generation Impreza Turbo.

yeh the bmw minis arent even worthy of carrying the name to be quite frank, if they called it a maxi or huggies i might have let them off the hook

but as it stands i still tend to give the idiot sign to so called mini drivers in thier bmws even tho my days of old skool mini ownership have come to an end.

This ISNT the advert, but the song is in it from 33 seconds, anyone know who/what it is?

You! are an angel

Nice one 8-)

It's a bit unnecessary giving a idiot sign to people in new Minis, surely. They're often bought by estate agents and posers, but then Polos are often bought by pensioners, there's no need to generalise.

Having driven both, the Mini whoops the Polo at all the fun stuff, they're so good to drive. Of course the Polo's more practical, but I defy anyone with a modified car to say they're concerned by that.

Latest Polo isn't fun/exciting to drive but it is nice and relaxing

I'm a bastard tho...

I've been in the new minis including a standard s, yes they handled well, the s was fast but not remarkably fast as i thought it would be and I've been in naturally aspirated old skool minis that would cane it at legal speeds however the s can easily go into triple figures with ease as most new cars can these days.

tbh many new cars handle really well my mums mk1 focus is still one of the best fwd cars I've driven to date i only got it understeering on a VERY tight bend on a country lane at 17, apart from that it stuck like glue...

but with a mini your paying a premium for a kudos status much like the new vw beetle and you dont get alot for your money, and unfortunatly you can buy far better with your mini money...

70 percent of the polos i see on the road are driven by grannies but you know when they passed on to a club member or enthusiast they have normally been very well looked after and barely even run in...

plus the granny polos make fast polos look F**KIN fast!

Arbarth 500 is going to be a thing like. Far cooler than new Minis! Although I can see them going the same way, which will be a shame!
