How did you get that paint looking so damn good? My Coupe is a sky blue metallic colour and I de-badged the rear but I discovered the paint has slightly faded around it whereas under the badges was normal. Would love to know how you got it looking so bright!!

Car looks fantastic, but one question, whats the 1.6 AEE out of? Nice work :)

wow looks shiny, i like the wheels big time, good work :D

tommy

you think thats shiny, they did a good job but its had a full respray now so probably looks ten times better, tom always does mint work on these cars and puts the same amount of love in as he done to his skyline, respect for a pretty sweet pretty nippy lil polo

lookin forward to seeing it at the RR day woo

I see that the cat gave it's approval/inspection when it first arrived

GT'd AEE is a nice conversion ;)

Still have plenty to do with mine yet as it doesn't have the spec yours does :tear:

i think the skoda engine that used to be in the old capri green gt was pushing just 110 ish with a chip i think, not sure on the other mods, so I'm hoping this gets 120 or more. is that maybe a bit too optimistic?

i wanna have a good poke around yours and this bay at the RR day, K tells me everything bolted up pretty much bar teh inlet manifold which needed a bit of precision welding?

K tells me everything bolted up pretty much bar teh inlet manifold which needed a bit of precision welding?

Not exactly, no... But that's because I wanted to do everything by the book, rather than pikey it in(not that Ema's is either before anyone says!)

Feel free to pop over and have a nosey. I hide nothing from anyone about my cars ;)

Let's see if another 20k on the clock since last year will stop it pushing out 103bhp again(Ema's was 110bhp)

Anyway, sorry to hijack the thread

the 1.6 aee conversion, is it basicly a 1.6 bottom end on a gt head? and they work together with no problems?

Yeah but you need to fiddle with a few things to get them to work. Inlet manifold being the biggest problem I believe.

The 1.6 bottom ends are supposedly very weak at high revs. Is this true?

You cannot use a GT head on an AEE bottom end. The AEE head has part of the combustion chamber in it whereas the GT head is flat.

There are quite a few things to do to make it work correctly, it's not just a drop in job...

Mine's the skoda aee as saf said.

It did 110 last rr that was with mods but without chip. Its got chip and larger throttle body this year. Had a few extra tweaks aswell :)

Feel free to come and have a look. I always feel abit silly going to places where i dont know anyone so please come and say hi :)

very nice GT!

I am really interested in the 1.6 AEE conversion have you had many chances to compare the acceleration and speed to a normal 1.3 GT?

Iv got a Spare GT engine laying up my unit and would like to try this conversion and iv all ready got a Nice spec G40 lump so want some thing different to do!

This will be for my daily GT so what's the fuel economy and general drive ability like?

cheers

I use this car everyday. Round town I'm getting 35-40 mpg and on a long run i get 40-45 mpg. As for reliability i cant fault her.

Had to change the gearbox though. Gt box has amazing acceleration but its crap on long journeys. Tried an 8p but didnt like that either.

As people have said in previous posts, the inlet is a pig. Mine was done by an engineering company that we use regularly. As comparing it to a gt. I've had 2 and been in a few and the 1.6 would eat it.

It sits with my mates gti easy :)

Not completely brown-nosing here but seriously, you've even got the same exhaust shape as me and my dad were looking at the other day in a nearby garage!!

Car looks great!

polishing that much made it look like that DAM! LOOKS HOT
