6N Polo Hella Rear Spoiler

Featured Replies

My sisters 6N has a Hella rear spoiler with the brake light in it. She had it MOT'd a while back and its been fine and dandy until the other day she noticed her rear wiper was sticking. Now it seems that the MOT people have took the light out that slides into the slot on the spoiler and replaced it with something that seemed to hang underneath. Now because of this the wiper blade is to long and catchs on the bottom of this stupid light!!

The car is just a daily run around for her and the spoiler means nout to it. if its easy to take off then I'm quite happy to just take it off and take the wiring out for it. Now, if its a proper bastard to take off them I'll want to be leaving it. Only thing is, how common are these spoilers? Am I likely to get one from a scrapyard? Or is it a common fault that the lights themselves break? I know jack shit about them and would rather not rip it off to find big holes or anything of the sort. I'd rather hear from someone who knows what there on about!

Cheers guys.

mine is a bit funny too...i have noticed a large build up of green moss etc think the water gathers in it as it runs off the spoiler...prob explains why they break a the fitment is a bit poop

...was it not functioning before it went in for its mot?

I dunno mate, my sister is at uni away from home so I don't really see the car much.

I only noticed today cause she said the wiper kept getting stuck. I suppose I could find a shorter blade, but thats no the point when some stupid daft idiot scotman has been paid to do a job and he does it shit stylz.

Anyone help?

my light was cracked when i bought my car...after a year or so it stopped working...bought a new hella one from GSF although the guy had to pull a few strings to get it for me (~£15)

trick with a new one is to file down the edges or it doesnt fit into the spoiler without cracking...must be a tight fit and once the spoiler is painted it just doesnt want to go in
