HIDS on standard headlights

Featured Replies

Right, does anyone have any experience with these? Does it skatter the light too much to be any good? Should I get some aftermarket headlights and get them for that?

Thanks, Tim!

They'll be excellent. For you...

What the fuck is that ment to mean? :?

Basically, no, because the light will be all over the place. They work alot better through clear glass.

I had to change my headlights before I fitted my HID's.

arent they best with projectors as they aim the light beam better and are more focused than just an o/e unit.

Yeah they ideally used with projectors I think.

Here you go chap, the beam onto the road from my 8000k Ultra Virtual Daylight HID Kit!

They seem ok, much better than standard I take it?

adskivw, you got any shots against a wall or something, to show the cutoff?

Tim, have you looked at upgrading the standard headlight bulbs? I got a set of philips x-treme vision +80% and they seem pretty good

Sorry

I mean they will be excellent for you - as in give you a lot more light. But, they will blind other road users in standard headlights.

Hmm cool! I've just ordered a set! Sod it if i blind others, I'll see better! I could always adjust the lights to point lower

That's my thinking too, as long as I can see! Got crystal lenses on the Golf with no beam pattern or anything on them, they just flood the road with light :D

haha =] Shame they don't do just plain clear ones for the mk4 anymore. Or if they do you can get them anywhere!

would love a set of standard shaped clear lights on mine, only seem to be available in LHD though, so you'll still be blinding people

who cares about blinding people as long as you can see lol. on a serious note though having lhd lights is as bad as running hid's with standard glass as at least with lhd the beams controlled

Just seems less illegal than running lhd

dublife is getting sets for around £70 + i think.... i was going to order a set for mine, but I've got standard headlights... is it worth it? will i see alot more on the road? or will it just be a waste of time?

cheers
