fking angry

Featured Replies

took my car into a local garage yesterday to get 4 new tyres fitted, the older guy seemed to a good job on the previous car to mine whereas his younger "chav" looking monkey smoked a fag and did very little work, he was asking about my car and what it was outputting & whether i went down the local boy racer haunt in brighton which pissed me off slightly but i let it go, he then went on about his amazing calibra 2.5 litre piece of crap to some guy next to me

Then came to my car getting sorted, he said it would fit on the ramp no problem, i asked if he had lowered cars in before which he replied "yeah mate we ave mercs and them Bmw M's in ere all the time"...so i wasn't overly confident, we did get it up there but the jacks wouldnt fit under my skirts.

Unfortunately the other guy who i entrusted more was busy so I was left with the monkey, he then got what i can only describe as a massive crowbar out & a rubber matt, me thinking surely the matt is to protect my undercarriage...wrong, he puts the bar on the matt & levers the car up using the plastic sill onto two wheels, followed by some cracking sounds as the sill bends dramatically away from the door frame(f**k knows what its doing to the bottom of the sill)....he settles it down & mutters something, then tries again...this time I shout "mate stop you are actually bending the sill away from the car look", not really bothered he puts it back down and says it wont work on this, the other guy comes out & tells us to take it off the ramp so we do...

Then comes the trolley jacks, the older bloke asks me how to remove the jacking point which i begin to reply but the c**k jumps in there ignoring me and wrenches the cover half off snapping the clips so it is hanging off, then he lets me over to it! so i remove my poor clip...

anyways the rest went ok, the car got jacked up & tyres fitted, unfortunately i have come out with this:

so folks, if you have a car you care about dont take it to J W R tyres in ringmer, the owner is a nice guy, shame he has some complete dimwit as a partner who has no respect for other peoples stuff.

Any ideas if a body shop will be able to bend the sill back into place? or is it going to be a case of a whole new door sill being sprayed?..

So did u not complain about this while you were there? I would of gone loopy if I had seen some little scrote having a go at my car with a bar!

i think i would have bent the bar round his scrawny neck  . garages should respect other peoples property or cover any damage caused while being worked on by them, end of story!

I'd have made sure that they took responsibility for resolving it. A letter to the local paper can often help.

Go back, if they refuse to sort it tell them trading standards will be very interested. If the old guy is a decent chap, then he may be cool with it anyway. Either way you look at it, they did it so they sort it.

i didnt complain at the time, i was a bit stunned & concerned that if i made a fuss i wouldnt get my new tyres fitted well, or at all!

I'm going to give them a ring tomorrow, say i noticed it but assumed it would clip back into place..see what they say

shouldnt off given them the money . compensate for the damge they caused to your car :D

I'd have been emptying the register if I was you. As well as putting thats kids face in the back of his skull.

should definately complain about it! someone i know had their sills bent by a garage and they ended up forking out to get them sorted

Jeez! I would not be happy :disgust: Definety complain about that..

That little c**t was obviously jealous of your car - after talking to you about it he obviously knew how you looked after it, yet he didn't seem to care when he was 'jacking' it up. I don't even let the idiots who look about 12 near my car, they don't have a clue..

I gotta get some new tyres fitted this week :paranoid: At least the wheels ain't on the car though

i agree complain big time, and as said before on this topic the trading standerds would be very interested to know about this if they refuse to repair any damage caused when they were meant to be fixing / replacing somthing that you paid money for!!! i wouldnt have moved the car out of the garage untill they agreed to fix tht little c**ts problem

I always take them off myself and just take the wheels in. I have also taken the jacking point covers off my wife's Ibiza before it's been in for work to be done. At least i know I will get them back in one piece then.

If the head mechanic is a nice guy, keep it just to him and have a word - don't put the guy out of business by making an uproar just because of some pikey recruit which he can easily just replace!
