gettin to the point where the ij ust about have the parts to take my polo of the road for its transplant however due to a holiday in febuary and needin to get money together i wont actually be gettin another car till march ish problem is i like alot of different cars and dont want to limit myself in terms of options and have a few ideas as to what i want, it must have

1) more than 55bhp

2)character

3) reasonable fuel consumption(at least 25mpg not wantin a v8)

4)not be a vauxhall or a fiat unless there truly exceptional!

5) be easily available for £1500 or less

any way i have a short list please feel free to add but give me a reason why!

so far I've been lookin at mk1+2 golf gti's, jetta gti's, pug 205 gti's, bmw e30 320's and s1 106 rallyes

Gotta be a Mk2 GTI - reason being if my 1.3 had more power I reckon it would be close perfect!

Also I have a Supra you can have for £1500

I second the mk2 GTI. If i had more money and could afford the insurance that'd be my choice hands down. You cant get much more character than a mk2 in my books :)

205 GTI, there a great driving experience, plus the 2 my step dad has had (and the 309 GTI he had) he never had any problems with apart from a cracked exhaust manifold (fairly common fault apparently).
