i was just wondering if anyone has any pictures of their polo with them tinted ? preferably with wth the same colour polo as me but if not thats ok.

and has anyone got any tips for dealing with tinted windows as in darkness of tint and visibility and stuff ??

any help is great.

any body wanna help out please ??

get them done profesionally

i'd go dark smoke rear sides and limo rear

or dark smoke rear and medium / light sides

I wouldnt bother getting them too dark unless you want to be pulled over alot .

I never used to get pulled over when i diddnt have tints on my old car .

My old car had 3/4 on the rear and 1/2 on the front .

Piccys here .

I have a mate used to have a 6n with limo black on the back 3. His car was dragon green. Had no tints on the front. Looked ok, but i personally have dark smoke on the rear 3 and i think it looks alot better, had no trouble off the police so i think i might get the front 2 done in light somke.

I have mine done professionaly, and have no problems with police, and I live next to a station.

95% rear, 50% fron.

Remember though the "law" says no more then 30% tint on the front, 0 % on windscreen, rear doesnt matter (think vans, however you do need 2 ouot of the 3 mirrors)

awesome people, thanks for the help :thumbsup:

i think I'm gonna get it done profesionally and have 95ish% on the back three and get the two front ones done later on when i get more money.

will post pics too once there done :)

sorry to hijac the thread.

is £190 a good price for getting mine done limo on the back 3 & legal tint on the front ?

:)

you cannot tint the front sides at all i'v been fines for light smoke before

there is a legal tint for the front side windows. i didnt mean the windscreen.

its gonna be 100 for the tree back, and i think 50 for the two fronts ( at legal limit of tint ) though I'm only doing the tree back for now.

is that a good price or does anybody know for a better place, price wise thats near me?

what shade are you having the backs?

pretty damn good tbh :)

fronts cannot be tinted after market you can only have the standard factory tints or the police can fine you a force you to remove them there and then

the laws gone very strict on this

rear lot can be any i painted mine before i had them smoothed

You can have tints on the front windows and the grade is dark enougth to match a 75% rear like on my old car . when i say match blend is what i mean .

Prices are sounding alright what people have been quated .

Iff your going to pay £160 then you might aswell pay £50 more and get the shatter resistant tints ..

It takes almost 5 hits with a hammer to put your window through .. that will sacre a theif away quite easily .. No quick jobies on your car ..

Those tints come in clear too with a UV protection factor . Good for stopping seats going grey ..

Think I paid £200 for mine all done professionaly and I've got a lifetime warranty on them, so if they peel, crack, its all get repalce.

The laws a bit screwed due to new regulations in 2004 (courtesy of some accidents between motorcycles and modified cars) iit was that it must allow at least 70% light through on the front side ( anything in fornt of the B pilar). However some now say that the law is not tint on the front.

Any tint may attract the attention of the police of VOSA (its can just be used as an excuse to check the rest of the car) althought the darker the Tint the more attraction.

Most companys will say that you can get away with 50% tint on front, espicialy if the back is really dark. Plus if done properly with good tint you wont notice as a driver ( I sit in min and unless I've got the windo open i cant tell and niether can most of my passangers

Oh forgot to say that if you have your front windows tinted before 2004 and can prove it new law doesnt apply

When i was in gran canaria last year i saw a couple of polo's one white ,one silver with the rear and side windows tinted silver underneath into black, real eye catchers. Doh! can't speak spanish so not sure where they come from.
