Well i spent about 8-10 hours trying to strip the paint off and not getting far so i decided to get them sandblast!

Well chuffed with the results.

in 2 minds about painting and/or clearcoat them!

Depends on the colour of the car? I think black wheels look awesome on red/green/white and sometimes blue Polo's.... however silver looks great on all colours...

its to go onto a red MK3. not too keen on going for black as i've got black steelies on at the mo, and they look dog ugly

Lol yea I'm on the standard black steelies at the min and they do look pretty piss. You could polish them?

white wheels look good on red mk3s , check out busters g40 (if its in the mk3 rides section)

dunno what colour to go for, but where did you get them blasted? and how much were they?

Got them done for £32 front side only

was meant to be £50 but they qouted the wrong price so had to give it me for less!

just cleaned them up with some wirewool and have sprayed a few layers of alloy paint on.

This being taken when second layer was dried

Looking good...just remember to take your time with the lacquer....i been polishing a few lacquer runs at work today....not too hard but can be avoided!!!

Not sure if I can explain but have you seen black chrome? Not sure if a similar effect can be effected from a can.....

yeah i've got a nice silver ring around the tires now :doubt:

i'll give the rubber a good clean after the lacuer

just paint the tyres black :paranoid::retard:

nah matey, they're 14's with oversized rubber on them!

185/60/14 = silly big

Guys at local VW garage suggested them, and since i don't know about tire size, i went along with it!

after some part warn 185/50/14 (or something like that)

looking really good for a DIY refurb!! As said above tho - those tires are chunky monkey!

i think he gets his tyres are stupidly high profile now :lol:
