whats rong with a CORSA???

Featured Replies

My mates got a corsa for his first car. P reg and about 18 months-ish later and it's still going, and he doesn't even take care of it that well. He said the other day he's never serviced it himself and doesn't know when it was last serviced. They take some beatings then!

Corsa B's are poo. I cant say anything about the other models as I've never been in them but my experience with the old ones is not good.

My 2p.

EDIT:- Saying that, so has my Polo been. So forget both of them and buy a bike.

We have a mk1 Astra at the unit.

Yeah, but you've got everything in there. 12 Reliant Rebels left on the earth isn't it?

Watch their owners club go buy a mint derby and make it into a softop saloon in revenge

You mean like the one sat in my garage with 17,500 miles on it? :ninja:

Corsa's are about as bad as Polo's lol ..

At the end of the day i would be embarrased to drive around in a corsa !

Corsa arnt bad cars but there Gay in my eyes being a VW enthusiast .

haha ok... now I'm thinking about mk3 polo's seem to be pretty decent from what people are saying and relitively cheap. If i get a non-GT version (a 1.3 is they do it) what trim level should i go for? does it effect the insurance level as somewhere in the thread some1 said a CL makes it group 7. what is it normally lol. cheers everyone for the input :D

get a 1.4 corsa sport

much better than a mk3 polo imo unless its a GT or above

mate if trim level concerns you (as in the amount of gadgets its got) then i wouldn't go for a mk3. to put things into perspective, the glove box lid was an optional extra on most models

guy speaks the truth

btw, cheques in the post dude :)

corsa's.... can look cool, the pedal feel weird tho imo as yeti said on the first page, and also i cant stand Vauxhall gear linkages/boxes. they always feel really sloppy and wobble about the neutral position alot but then when you go to put it in gear they are quite clunky i have found. thats been the same on 3 astra's (a mark 3 1.4 + 2 mark 4's - a 1.816v sri and a 1.6 16v sxi) and also in the various range of corsas I've driven that mates have owned. i haven't read the whole thread as tbh i couldnt be bothered but i saw you asked insurance. i paid £1075 tpft with pass plus through norwich union at 17, own policy, on a mark 3 GT but then it had cat 1 alarm and immobilieser, in a garage at night and i live in a cat A area- lowest crime rate.

cheers bud, i'll nick some bubble rap from work tomorrow and get them packaged up for you 8-)

whats wrong with them........

everything, just dont like them.

Mk3 Polos... hmm...

They aren't the tidiest handling cars ever and they keep you on their toes. All the engines are alright for what they are, nigh on indestructable apart from head gaskets really.

Even the 1.0 isn't too bad, but I wouldn't have another...

A GT would be nice :ninja:

for all there faults (and there are quite a few) i'd have another GT. wouldn't piss on any thing smaller engined tho, the engine was the only thing that made it fun (well that and the side exit 8-) ).

in my personal opinion, as a first car, ie 17/18....... and this is important

a corsa will get you laid more than a 15 year old polo lolllll

I dont know a 15 year old polo with a pimp set of leather seats and a expensive video stereo stripped rear seats a healthy drop and some uber shinny paintwork and wheels seemed to attract the girls a hell of alot more than any chaved up corsa .

Although why should a car make a girl like you more ..

Unless your 20 and driving around in a porsche or something .

My corsa B, doesnt run at the moment cos of the bloody alarm, i still love them in their own way, just like a polo but without the build quality!

corsa's like any other car have good and bad points.. you might buy a minter, you might buy a shitter. end of the day its down to personal opinion, you're own taste & maybe even a bit of luck.
