The daewoos were all designed from scratch i believe, they were entirely new, but the company went bankrupt, lots of corruption going on. the matiz is a great car, i had one for a year, very reliable, drank next to no fuel, even took it down to the south of france and back no probs, getting a ton out of it, restrictor kicks in at about 105mph. obviously its not a cool car, or a family car, but if you want something dirt cheap, its excellent.

The early ones weren't. Espero was a cavalier chassis with a different body and the Nexia just was a Mk2 Astra from end to end (except cosmetics).

I didn't know about the Honda Crossroad though????!!!!! Must have been in t'day when Rover had that collaboration with Honda, 'borrowed' the Vtec technology for the 1.8 VVC lumps, and built the Rover 200, 400, and 600 which were all essentially rebodied Honda's!

theres loads! rover 600 and 800 all shared a lot of bits with the honda accord, the 200 was the same as the concerto. mazda 323 shared the focus platform, what about the audi a6, skoda superb and vw passat, the polo, ibiza and fabia the list could go on for ever! dont forget the 106 and laxo too!

Ancient rover 213/216 was a Honda Ballade, apart from the 213, which had the shitty K-series engine in.

Old Rover 200/400 was a Honda Charade (irony anyone?), apart from the ones with the shitty K-series engine in.

Rover 400 is a Civic, apart from the ones with the shitty K-series engine in.

Rover 600 is an Accord, apart from the ones with the shitty K-series engine in.

Rover 800 occassionally hit lucky and got the Legend engine in, the rest got the shitty K-series engine in.

when i worked @ toyota we used 2 supply bits 4 a couple of taro's but the only one i saw was the 4 wheel drive one I'm sure
