Featured Replies

front wheel bearing

rear wheel bearing

and either new shocks, or standard springs to be put back on, as they rotate its dropped 40mm rears are fine when lifted off ground though.

i dont really have any idea on price but i think you will have alot of trouble selling it without an mot and that much work needed to get it through. might be worth getting an mot on it and being abit out of pocket until it sells.

dry

My front drivers side wheel bearings starting to squeak a bit right now. Had a quote for £45. Mines a MK4

I think you will be looking at somewere around £150-£200 but get everything done at once as there going to have to take the shocks off to do the wheel bearings .

Majority of the work can be done yourself bar pressing the wheel bearings in and out .

I would be tempted to strip the car down and take the hubs in to get the bearings replaced .

cheers i have done the rear wheel bearing today so thats one job down

i just dont want to take the car back up to standard height so it can then be dropped after mot if you get me, but it has to be done, i can do the front wheel bearing my self i think so its not hard work, but i ahve no idea where the fog lights have gone wrong. and i lowered the car my self and i found it hard thats why iu am hesitating about taking it back up.

but cheers for all your help

The front wheel bearings aren't that easy unless you have a good bench vice, big hammer or a press.

i'd rather have a car at standard height with an mot, than lowered with dodgy shocks and no mot
