Classic Insurance...non-refundable

Featured Replies

I have my GT insured through HIC on a classic policy which is non-refundable. I think the yearly amount

is £350 but I'm paying monthly. I'm selling the GT and getting a newer car. I cant swap the car on my policy because they'll

only insure a pre-1992 car.

Is there anyway of getting a re-fund? Are there exceptions to the rule? Anyone else been in this situation?

£350 is a lot of money for insurance on a car for 2 months. :-(

Can you not cancel the policy and then tell your bank to cancel all direct debits to HIC?

Then they'll chase the debt (I've been told) but I've already paid £150.

One of the lads from HIC said ring him when I've got my new car and he'll try and sort something out. So lets hope

I'm not paying loads. eek
