Model: 1992 VW Polo G40

Engine: 1W diesel block re-bored to 77mm, 1W diesel crank, Accralite forged pistons, 310cc injectors, ported inlet manifold, 51mm throttlebody, oil cooler, full blend G60 charger with standalone oil supply, 65mm toothed belts, fast road cam (not sure what it is, just some random cam that came on Geoffrey), stainless 4 branch manifold, Jabba air filter, Mocal oil catch tank, front mount intercooler, ATV gearbox with grippa LSD.

Suspension: Lowered 60mm all round on H&R kit, front lower Ged brace, Weichers Sport front lower TCA brace, rear upper strut brace, G-laderseite nylon ARB blocks.

Brakes: Black Diamond discs and pads with braided hoses all round.

Wheels and Tyres: Standard 13" G40 BBS alloys in satin black, Yoko A539's or Toyo R-888's (depending on what type of driving I'm doing).

Exterior Styling: De-badged grill. That's about it, he looks pretty tatty atm, but that's what I love about him.

Interior Styling: Stripped out rear seats, boost gauge, AFRM gauge, apart from that he's standard.

ICE and Security: No stereo in him he's too loud to be able to hear it, but I do have the amazing vibro passenger seat, according to Tain it's wonderful

Comments: Future plans include BVH, subframe, new coilovers, some 14" rims, Stainless exhaust system to replace his sieve like exhaust and new engine management system . Also got something a bit special in mind for the 'charger but that will be a little way off. Going to put a roll cage in him, buckets and strip him out completely (although this might not happen with this shell). I've got some new doors to tidy him up a little and I've got an un-dented bonnet that I am going to spray and put on him.

Love this car, proper beasty sleeper! Very hot engine in a car that looks near standard, brilliant. Any idea of power output? Or is that to be proven at RR day?

Your car is so PIMP and i love it but just remember Sally i'll always have a home for Geoffery's engine :-D

skatty - Got a rough idea of what the power will be but it's not been proven yet. I'm not sure as to whether he will be at the RR day, will have to see how things go.

It's taken a while to get everything together all at the right place and time, but all that effort and struggle must be sooo worth it. Its been good to see this come along to completion. Be interested to see what pans out for the shell if anything.

IC hoses are measured up borticus don't worry.

No I'm running the standard door cards Greg , I'm sure curries will probably be faster as he's got the BVH etc on it but I'm still pleased with the outcome of Geoffrey, it'll be an ongoing project for a long time methinks :-D

See what everyone means bout you and Currie competing, looks like its gona be a monster of a car!! Will need to see some videos of it going whenever its going!!

Hmmmm, not sure about currie but I'm not competing with him. I've built this engine for myself and I'm really pleased with the outcome, even if it's not 100% finished yet (what project ever is?).

As said above I'm pretty positive that currie's will be more powerful initially due to some of the mods he's got on his.

There are a few vids kicking around somewhere, will dig them out and post them up soon.

Yep, he's now taxed again so he'll be running tomorrow again.

I'll be happy with around 200bhp for his first run although I do know that these engines will put out a hell of a lot more than that when fully set up so I'll wait and see what he makes on the rollers.

sorry dont mean to sound daft here I'm new to VW's i used to build mini's.

whats a 1w and whats a ' full blend g60 charger' ? i know the g60 charger part but its the full blend i wasnt sure of

also what head is this running ? again dont wanna sound daft but is it a g60 head and charger on a dielsel block and crank ? and finally whats the ATV gearbox from ?

The 1W is the engine code from a 1.4D Seat Terra Van. Full Blend basically means it's had loads of material removed from inside the charger.

It's running a standard 1.3 G40 head with the diesel block and crank.

The ATV gearbox is from a G40, just modified and rebuilt with a Grippa LSD in it.
