Was done on ProDesktop. I get it free through the school, even though its actually pretty useless for practical use.

I would like a copy of solidworks to learn though.....

I couldn't work out the thread either... I chopped off about 4" from the stick in my Polo to shorten it and intended on putting a die down it but in the end I welded the threaded section back on because I couldn't for the life of me decide what it was.
